Relatives and friends were shocked by the sudden death of Tom Hill of an apparent heart attack on November 3, 1997. Tom was interred at the IOOF cemetery in Caddo Mills, Texas. Lewis Clark, Tom's life-long friend read from the scriptures and Tom's daughter, Tami, gave the eulogy and read "The Cowboy's Prayer. Tom served in the U.S. Navy and was past Quartermaster of VFW Post 4011 in Greenville. He is survived by his mother Opal Hill, a daughter, Tami Wood, her mother June Hill, a granddaughter, a grandson, and two sisters.
